Anna's Tech Tool

TechSmith Snagit is a screen capture and screencasting tool that allows you to take and save screenshots of parts of your screen easily. To install this tool, you can go to the Google Play store and download the free extension to your Chrome browser. The tool does not work in any other browser.

To take a screenshot of any part of your screen, you click the blue and white S icon in the top right corner of your browser and select the type of screenshot you want to take. Once you take your screenshot by clicking the camera icon, you can either download the photo or copy its URL to insert into a document.

As a teacher, this tech tool would be great for creating worksheets, presentations, or any other media that you want to insert pictures, charts, or graphs into. It would also be great for students to use when they are creating media products.

  1. Good afternoon, Anna. This looks to be a very unconventional yet very creative tech tool, and I can see students gravitating towards this in that they actually can manipulate the images they would like. This also saves quite a bit of time logistically for the instructor, and with such a reliance on Chromebooks and Google Classroom, the learning curve is almost completely eliminated.

  2. Hey Anna! This tool would have been so helpful to have when I had my Dell PC. I used to spend so much time having to take an entire screenshot, paste it into Paint, and crop the portion of the screen I wanted in order to save and insert the image into another document. Having this tech tool could really save teachers a lot of time (especially when most computers in schools are PC computers). I also liked that you added that students could use this when they are creating various presentations and media. It is basically just a way to simplify things for both educators and students and its really cool that you discovered this!

  3. Greetings Anna! Wow, this tool seems too legit! I could really use this tool for slide shows I create for my teacher input during a lesson. I feel that this would make copying items easier and more specific to what you specifically are wanting. This is a really neat tool chica!
